Dreams have a very creative way to show you what needs healing and what symbolic element you need more or less of in your life. Once you know this you’ll be able to work with the element in waking life to bring those attributes back to balance!

So what does each element represent in a dream & how can we work with each in our waking life?

Earth in dreams

Dreams centered around nature, being connected to the Earth in some way such as gardening or dirt usually show up when you’re grounded and in the present moment if it’s a positive dream. Sometimes too much Earth element can show someone resting too much leaning more towards laziness and lethargy.

Healing with Earth: You can ground yourself just by being in nature but have you tried putting your bare feet on the earth?  This is called Earthing and it’s an amazing process that allows us to absorb the Earth’s free energy. What this does is:⠀

🌍it brings us to the present moment⠀

🌍reduces negative emotions and anxieties⠀

🌍helps us detoxify from all the electronics we are surrounded by daily⠀

🌍it also connects us to nature and that on is own has enormous benefits.

Wind in dreams

Wind showing up in your dreams relate to thoughts, intellect and overall mental chatter. This can be seen in dreams such as tornadoes, trees moving because of the wind or any other representation of air in that is significant.
Too much air shows up when we’re overthinking or over analyzing things and feeling very focused on our headspace.

Healing with Air: A great way to balance the mental chatter and reduce the air element in your body is by practicing mudra meditation centered around reducing air and increasing earth.

Mudras are sacred hand gestures that manipulate the elements in your body. Each finger represents an element and certain gestures can reduce, increase or stabilize the elements in your body depending on the desired outcome.

Fire in dreams

Fire in dreams is showing passion and drive but it can also show anger if this is found out of balance.
All of these elements have ups and downs behind it and can be used as key indicators of something deeper.
This is just another way to pay attention and point you in the direction of what needs to be looked at.
In the case of fire being related to passion, too much passion in the wrong direction turns to anger or frustration, a heated type of emotion.

Healing with Fire: The practice of gazing on an object is known as Trāṭaka and one of my favorite ways to meditate is through candle gazing especially if you’re having a hard time clearing your mind. All you do is soften your eyes and gently turn your focus to the flame, it’s movement will create a sense of tranquility. This practice is a great for stress management and also helps with disturbed sleep! You can use your favorite scented candle to add to your practice.

To do this simply:⠀

🔥set your space and meditative seat (you want to be comfortable),⠀

🔥have your lighted candle eye level⠀

🔥focus on the flame without blinking as long as comfortably possible⠀

🔥then close your eyes and see the flame in your minds eye or third eye chakra⠀

🔥when the image in your mind goes away start deepening your breath.⠀

🔥This is a very cleansing, transmuting and calming practice. Fire is used in Full moon ceremonies to burn what we want to release. I like to think of that while doing my practice. Letting go of the old to bring in the new!

Water in dreams

And finally, if you’re seeing a lot of water in your dreams then there’s some emotions brewing up. It’s also connected to intuition and it’s bringing attention to something in the emotional sense. The depth of the body of water and overall details of the water will give you better insights into the depth of the emotion.

Healing with Water: One of the quickest ways to work with this element is to simply be around water. You can relax in a nice warm bath/shower or Jacuzzi and visualize the water washing away any negativity from your day. There’s something about the way water flows that can be very soothing.  You can place small fountains in your house or patio and use that as a focal point while meditating.
